Description

Repairs to Forest Service Roads: Check Station, Avery Creek, Joel Branch and Coontree Gap. This project includes but is not limited to road repair, soil erosion and pollution control, removal and replacement of culverts, aggregate and riprap placement, roadway reconditioning, embankment construction, seeding and mulching all in accordane with the Federal Highway Administration's Standard Specifications for Construction of Roads and Bridges on Federal Highway Projects (FP-03) supplemented by special project specifications. The period of performance for this project will be 180 calendar days after issuance of a notice to proceed. The magnitude of construction is between $100,000 and $250,000. The project is located on the Pisgah Ranger District located in Transylvania County, North Carolina. A site visit will be held on August 1, 2006 at 9:00am local time. Directions to the pre-bid conference are to take Highway 240 West from Asheville to I-26 South. Take the Brevard Road exit (SR 191) and follow to Mills River. Continue on SR 280 to the Pisgah National Forest entrance on the right which is SR 276 before entering the town of Brevard and just past the Wal-Mart on the right. Follow SR 276 to the Pisgah Ranger Station which will be on the right and the group will proceed from that location at 9:00am sharp. It is STRONGLY ENCOURAGED that all prospective bidders attend this meeting. ISSUE DATE: July 21,2006. DUE DATE: August 21, 2006. This project is being solicited under the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program and IS NOT set-aside for small business participation only. All solicitation documents will be uploaded to FEDBIZOPS on July 21, 2006.
