- NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD SOLE SOURCE: Directorate of Contracting, Fort Drum, New York 13602-5220, intends to award a sole source purchase to Kaman Aerospace. The proposed contract action is for supplies for which the Government does not have specifications and drawings, also due to the comple xity and criticality of this part, only manufacturers that have successfully completed all testing required by the original company responsible for the design, or manufacturers that have successfully completed all testing on items determined by the Governm ent to be similar in complexity and criticality, can be considered approved sources for this item. Current qualified source is: Kaman Aerospace Corporation, Old Windsor Road, Bloomfield, CT. Items to be purchased; 15 each Leading Edge Erosion Guard for main rotor blade AH-1 Cobra Helicopter, size 20 feet long 1/8 inch thick. Part Number K747-116-9. The associated NAICS code is 336411 and small business standard is 1500 employees. This procurement will be a 100% small business set-aside. This purchase will be made under Simplified Acquisition Procedures and Other than Full and Open Competition as authorized in FAR Part 13.501(a). This notice is neither a request for competitive proposals nor a solicitation of offers. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The closing date for this Synopsis is July 17, 2006 at Noon.
