- The Department of Energy (DOE) intends to solicit a proposal and negotiate with the iThemba Laboratories in South Africa for a sole source, Indefinite Delivery-Indefinite Quantity, Firm Fixed price Contract to supplement the Department's production capabilities, production of radioisotopes or irradiation services. The proposed contract covers target irradiations performed by iThemba for the Deparment to produce Sr-82 and Ge-68. All targets will be irradiated by iThemba at its facility and shipped to the Depatment's national laboratory for Processing. The contract will be for a three-year period. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION FOR PROPOSALS OR AN INVITIAON FOR BIDS, NOR DOES IT REPRESENT A COMMITMEN BY THE GOVERNMENt TO PAY FOR COSTS INCURRED IN PREPARATION AND SUBMISSION OF DATA OR ANY OTHER COSTS INCURRED IN RESPONSE TO THIS ANNOUNCEMENT. Interested parties having all the capabiliies to perform the services described above are requested to send in its capability statement, limited to not more than 10 pages , to be received by August 7, 2006, to U.S. Department of Energy, Office of Procurement and Assistance Management (MA-643.1), 1000 Independence Ave., S.W., Washington, DC 20585.
