- The VA National Acquisition Center will issue Request for Proposal (RFP) VA-797-06-RP-0081 for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Department of Defense (DoD) and Bureau of Prisons (BoP) for Metoprolol Tartrate Tablets. The estimated annual usage of Metoprolol Tartrate is 463,883 bottles of 25mg tablets in bottles of 100 each; 173,217 bottles of 50mg tablets in bottles of 100 each; 186,184 bottles of 50mg tablets in bottles of 1000 each; 29,088 bottles of 100mg tablets in bottles of 100 each and 56,318 bottles of 100mg tablets in bottles of 1000 each. The contract period will be for one year plus four one-year option periods. The contract items will be distributed through the VA and DoD's respective Pharmaceutical Prime Vendor(s). Offeror's must provide bar code labeling which includes at a minimum the NDC number. In addition, tablets must be compatible with automatic dispensing units (Baxter ATC Canisters, Optifil, etc.). If the offeror is not a manufacturer, a signed agreement between the offeror and the manufacturer must be submitted with the offer and remain in effect for the duration of the contract period including the option years. The estimated quantities listed above are for VA, DoD and BoP. Indian Health Service (IHS) requirements are forthcoming and will be included in the solicitation once issued. OFFERS ARE NOT BEING SOLICITED AT THIS TIME. The solicitation will be available on or about the issue date of July 14, 2006. If the solicitation is issued on July 14, 2006 the offers due date will be August 15, 2006, on or before 4:00 pm Central Standard Time.
