Description
EMT-STATEMENT OF WORK Contractor to perform EMT services as listed below at VAMC, Manchester, NH. PLEASE NOTE THIS IS AN ON CALL POSITION ONLY. Contractor shall set up and operate devices to provide respiratory assistance that will include used of VA provided ventilators. Contractor shall provide emergency care, including artificial respiration,external cardiac massage and assistance with cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Contractor to provide assistance with any other required airway mjanagement. Contractor shall perform blood draws for outpatient and nursing home care unit population. Contractor shall perform basic nursing care to the nursing home population on off shifts.. This will include but is not limited to vital signs, transfers ,feeding and other assigned duties. Contractor to respond to code situations in any department during tour of duty. This function will supercede any Nursing Home duty assignment. HOURS OF DUTY The contractor is assigned to the Nursing Home on the below shifts Friday Evenings and Saturday Evenings 1600-2400. Saturday and Sunday Nights 0000-0800 hours(example would be come in Friday night and leave Saturday morning) Holiday Coverage- would work hours of 1600 thru 0800. This would include July 4, Columbus Day, Thanksgiving, Labor Day, Veterans Day and Christmas. EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS Staffing agency should provide an information packet to show the following 1.Minimum of 2 recent and relevant professional references. 2.TB test results and evidence of satisfactory health status. 3.Verification of education, training and certifications. 4. Current licensure and national registry in good standing. 5. Documentation of testing, screening, personally interviewed by qualified EMT/Paramedic to assure current competence and proficiency in all required clinical skills and theory expected of a competent EMT-I/Paramedic. 6. Provide current CPR certification-BLS minimum and ACLS preferred. 7. Documentation of participation in appropriate continuing education activities. 8.Orientation and instruction in use of universal precautions consistent with OSHA requirements. Contractor shall receive training in the essential operational function of the DHCP/VISTA software package. Contracor expected to perform work with minimal supervision.
