The solicitation will be available at http://ideasec.nbc.gov Website on or about July 10, 2006. TELEPHONE REQUESTS FOR THE SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. This project consists of the general construction of a water distribution system for the fire protection including approximately 1,600 linear feet of 6" diameter ductile iron or PVC water distribution main and approximately 220 linear feet of 4" diameter PVC service line. The work also includes the connection of the existing lateral at the Maintenance Area, the removal of four fire hydrants, the installation of three new fire hydrants and the construction of approximately 500 linear feet of 2" diameter PVC waterline for filling a new water storage reservior. The 2" fill line will be installed in the same trench as the 6" fire main for approximately 370 linear feet. The fire protection water line will be installed in the same location as an existing 4" diameter ductile iron waterline to be either abandoned in place or removed. A SITE VISIT IS SCHEDULED FOR: JULY 24, 2006 @ 9:00 AM. Contractors shall meet at the Maintenance Building, 1990 Maintenace Way, Richmond, VA 23231. The NAICS Code is 237110. This Request for Quotation (RFQ) is issued pursuant to Public Law 100-656, Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program and is open to all concerns, regardless of size. It is anticipated that the government will award a firm fixed price contract to the low, responsive, responsible Offeror. Quotations are due AUG 14, 2006 BY 4:30 P.M. The construction estimate is between $25,000 and $100,000.
