Description

In accordance with FAR subpart 13.106(b) (1), the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to issue, on a sole source basis, a purchase order to Cambustion LTD in Cambridge, UK in the amount of $89,922.00 for an Aerosol particle sizer with a high ratio diluter and one day function check and training visit. CDC believes that Cambustion LTD is the only organization that can meet the requirements of the order because the Cambustion instrument uses a (patented) hardware solution to the problem of image charge effects. This is preferable over that of a software solution used by the TSI instruments. At high transient aerosol concentrations, artifacts are likely to be observed with the TSI instruments producing erroneous results. Additionally, the dimensions of the TSI FMPS and EEPS are too large for convenience for field applications, where space is at a premium. Interested parties who feel that they possess the capabilities to satisfy this requirement should submit a capability statement demonstrating their abilities to meet this requirement. The information received in response to this notice will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement. Documentation should be received within fifteen (15) days after date of publication of this synopsis to be considered by CDC.
