Description

***The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, under authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), with Advanced Measurement Technology, Inc. of Oak Ridge, TN for the purchase of a replacement gamma-ray detector (Model # GEM30P4-PLUS-S). ***Sole Source is determined based on the following: The Ortec Gamma-Ray Detector is the only replacement part that is 100% compatible with NIST?s existing automated liquid nitrogen filling system. This detector is a drop-in replacement and is the only detector that matches NIST?s existing configuration, will not require NIST to re-configure the existing cryostat configuration and will not require NIST to procure another filling system. Advanced Measurement Technology, is the sole manufacturer and distributor for this required replacement part. ***Delivery shall be FOB Destination, Gaithersburg, MD, and is required within 75 days after receipt of order.*** ***The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 339111, and the size standard is 500 employees.*** ***No solicitation package will be issued. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, the Government will consider responses received by July 10, 2006.*** A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
