Description

The USDA Agriculture Research Service (ARS) requires that all labor, supervision, tools, and materials be provided to upgrade the HVAC system for building 1 at the Appalachian Farming Systems Research Center, Beaver, WV. The bidding package will be structured with a base bid requirement (shown on the drawings as Option 1) for the removal of two RTU units and three exhaust fans, the installation of three exhaust fans, supply & exhaust duct work, hydronic piping, diffusers and terminal reheat devices with all associated mechanical & electrical work and modifying the building structure as needed. Bid Option 1 (shown on the drawings as Option 2) requires the removal and replacement of the distribution duct work, diffusers hydronic piping, and terminal reheat devices with associated mechanical and electrical work, and modifying the building structure as required. Bid Option 2 (shown on the drawings as Option 3) requires the removal and replacement of distribution duct work, diffusers hydronic piping, terminal reheat devices and AHUs with associated mechanical and electrical work, and modifying the building structure as required. Bid Option 3 (shown on the drawings as Option 9) is for the removal of the growth chamber cooling tower and replacing it with a grade level closed loop air cooled chiller with associated mechanical and electrical work. Bid Option 4 (shown on the drawings as Option 10) requires constructing 46 LF +=- of 14'H CMU wall on the edge of an existing concrete slab. All work shall be performed in accordance with the terms, conditions, drawings, and specifications contained in the solicitation documentation. The estimated cost of construction is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. This project must be completed within 300 days after receipt of notice to proceed.
