Description

THIS PROJECT IS ADVERTISED ON AN UNRESTRICTED BASIS PURSUANT TO THE SMALL BUSINESS COMPETITIVENESS DEMONSTRATION PROGRAM. THIS PROJECT IS A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL (RFP), PERFORMANCE PRICE TRADE OFF (PPTO) SOLICITATION. POC for this solicitation is Mr. Louie P. Brackett at FAX: 251-694-3626. This project includes removal of the existing main gate at Hurlburt Field and upgrading to a modern AT/FP standard with visitors center, commercial vehicle inspection station and 4 lane guard stations. There will also be new construction of a sound side gate with one lane gate and a lane for vehicle inspection. This also includes fencing around the sound side of Hurlburt Field. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this project is 237990. Estimated cost range of the project is from $5,000,000 to $10,000,000. Solicitation/bid documents should be available on or about 24 July 2006. Mr. Edward M. Slana is the Contracting Officer for this project. Note No. 1: EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY; the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District, is implementing a new procedure for posting all NEW solicitations. A Pre-Proposal Conference and Contractor Site Visit has been scheduled for 0900 hrs on 27 July 2006. The purpose of the conference is to familiarize the bidders with the scope of work, address bidders questions concerning the project, participate in a site visit to become familiar with the existing site conditions, and familiarize the bidders with the Best Value process. Attendance at the conference is strongly recommended. Due to Base Security requirements and limited field staff available for const ruction contractor site visits, this scheduled site visit will be the only one offered. Individual requests for site visits will not be granted. Contractors will be required to register with Ms. Nancy Henry, by 900 hrs on 24 July 2006 and provide their g iven name (no nicknames), the project name, name of the company that they represent, and a state drivers license number.
