Description
The proposed project is a Civil Works flood damage reduction project located along the White River in the metropolitan north area of Indianapolis, Indiana between College Ave. and Riviera Dr. E. The proposed contract work includes: a) Construction of approximately 4300 feet of driven steel sheet pile floodwall, with concrete facing. b) Construction of approximately 700-foot long, 2-foot high earthen levee. c) Fabrication and installation of six welded steel closure gates with dimensions ranging from 4 - to 5 feet high and 19- to 39 feet wide. d) Construction of a stormwater pump station with twin 5500 gpm pumps and associated electrical service and controls. e) Installation of 2-and 3-foot diameter drilled shaft caissons to depths between 30- and 60 fee t. f) Dewatering the discharge area of the Indianapolis Water Canal intake structure for installation of 3-foot diameter. g) Establishment and maintenance of roadway and pedestrian detour routes for closures necessitated by construction of the project feat ures. The proposed project would contain a 550 calendar day base period and a contract option period. The anticipated contract duration is 730 calendar days, as determined by award of the contract option on or about January 31, 2007.
