- NOTICE OF INTENT June 28, 2006 The U.S. Department of Energy, Office of Scientific and Technical Information (OSTI) intends to award a purchase order on a sole-source basis to Nature Publishing, under FAR Part 6.302-1 Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Sources Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. Simplified Acquisition Procedures under FAR Part 13 will be used. The following is a list of electronic journals which are required by OSTI. Nature The Nature Research and Review Nature Methods Nature Chemical Biology Nature Physics EMBO Nature Publishing is the sole publisher of a unique of electronic journal titles, which are required by OSTI. Firms who want to challenge the sole source must sumbit an interest letter that demonstrates your firm's ability to provide equivalent journals and rationale as to why they should be considered, as described above. All interested firms must respond by 1:00 pm (EST), July 13, 2006, to Henrietta Thompson, U.S. Department of Energy, 1 Science.gov Way, Oak Ridge, Tennessee 37830. Fax Number: 865-576-3589. A determination by the Government not to compete this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. No reimbursement for any costs connected with provding the capability information wiill be provided by DOE.
