Description
Western Area Power Administration, Rocky Mountain Region intends to negotiate and award a contract on a sole source basis for supplies and incidental professional services to rebuild an ITE Gould 345 kV SF6 gas breaker. This is a commercial item acquisition per FAR Parts 12 & 13.5. The acquisition will be conducted in accordance with the simplified procedures authorized by FAR Subpart 13.5, titled ???Test Program for Certain Commercial Items.??? The contract is to provide supplies and incidental factory rep (engineer) services to perform the following: replace rupture disk & desiccant, modify gas manifold, replace worn seals, gaskets, bearings & contacts, replace/rebuild breaker bushings, trip latch mechanism & isolation valves. Reference FedBizOpps Numbered Note #22: The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within 10 days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The NAICS Code is 335313 and the applicable size standard is 750 employees. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals by emailing the Contracting Officer, Anne Anderson, at aanderson@wapa.gov no later than 10 calendar days after date of publication of this synopsis, i.e., NLT July 10, 2006.
