- The Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division China Lake CA intends to procure on an other than full and open competition basis one lathe Haas Automation Part number TL-2 CNC and one milling machine, Haas Automation Part Number TM-2. Lathe, Manual Toolroom lathe 16" (406mm) x 48" (1219mm), 16" (406mm) swing, 12hp (8.9kw) 2,000rpm, A2-6 spindle, LCD display, no workholding, toolpost, or toolholders. Operates on single or three-phase power, includes visual quick code, intuitive programming system, 1MB, and warranty with the following options: 8M Additional 8 spare "M" functions; KEY Keyswitch Memory Lock for Front Pendant. Haas is the only known manufacturer that manufactures a mill and lathe that utilize the same control system. This feature is necessary in order to convert design data between the two systems. In addition, the Haas system is the only system that has a X axis travel of 40". The large X-axis travel is required in order to use large-scale panels and make large bores.
