- The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has a requirement for administration of a Research Fellowship Program. This Fellowship Program is designed to: 1) provide opportunities for early career public health professionals to further their professional development by conducting independent or collaborative research relevant to FDA Programs; 2) provide training and education opportunities for faculty, Fellows, and health professionals in medical, biological, chemical, epidemiological, pharmacoepidemiologic, toxicological, mathematical/statistical, physics, or related sciences, engineering and related disciplines in practical research or regulatory assessment; 3) to expose early career public health professionals and other health professionals in many disciplines to the unique science-based issues in medical product development, evaluation and review with the goal of stimulating new advances and tools in this area; and 4) provide an opportunity for those early career public health professionals who successfully complete the Research Fellowship to be considered for a permanent position within the Agency?s Programs. The contract is currently held by Oak Ridge Associated Universities, PO Box 117, Oak Ridge, TN 37830-0117. The FDA anticipates a five-year Indefinite Delivery-Indefinite Quantity contract will be awarded. The solicitation will be issued on or about July 8, 2006, and will be posted on this Web site. Offerors are responsible for routinely checking this Web site for any amendments to the solicitation. Proposals will be due thirty days after the date of issuance of the solicitation. All responsible sources may submit a proposal, which will be considered by the Government. See Numbered Note 26.
