- The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, Pittsburgh, PA has a requirement to provide and install approximately 4500 ft. of a 36 Core Multi Mode Fiber Optic Cable in existing conduit. The installation will require working underground in a Limestone mine used for mining research. The cable will be installed in three sections and terminated with Unicom ST 62.5/125 connectors on each end; will also require to mount and install a rack mounted fiber patch panel in the control room and provide and install 3 fiber optic enclosures in an underground limestone mine with certain specifications. The drawing should be done in AutoCAD format. The solicitation package will define the complete requirement. A single award will be made from this solicitation. This is a simplified acquisition with an estimated value of less then $100,000. The entire scope of this work, requirements and evaluation factors will be addressed in the solicitation when issued. This procurement is being issued as a small business set-aside. The NAICS code for this action is 238290. Request for Quotation (RFQ) 2006-Q-08686 will be issued on or after July 10, 2006, and quotes will be due by July 21, 2006. No telephone requests for the solicitation will be accepted.
