- This contract will require two primary heritage resource tasks: 1) Update and re-recordation and National Register evaluation of 9 previously recorded archaeological/historical sites along the Salmon River within the Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness, and 2) the cultural resource inventory of 50 acres located along an adjacent stretch of the Salmon River, and the recordation of all cultural resources found as a result. There are 8 previously recorded cultural resources within this survey area that will need to be updated and rerecorded along with evaluating each for their National Register eligibility. These 8 sites are in addition to the 9 previously recorded sites noted for task 1, as well as any found in the cultural resource inventory. 1) Update and re-record 17 archaeological/historical properties and evaluate each for their National Register eligibility, reporting each on the State of Idaho Access Program site form. 2) Record all new and previously recorded cultural resources found within the defined 50 acre survey area on the State of Idaho Access Program site form, and evaluate each for their National Register Eligibility. The results of this field work are also to be included in a final professional report summarizing all aspects of the field work, findings, and relevance for greater archaeological interpretation/association and scientific understanding. The location of the updating, re-recordation and evaluation work will be within an approximate 3 mile stretch of the Salmon River between sections 4-5 of T25N, R11E, sections 31-32 of T26N, R11E and sections 25 and 36 of of T26N, R10E. All sites are located within the Wild and Scenic River corridor of the Salmon River. The fifty-acre parcel requiring a cultural resource survey is located within sections 21-23 and 26-28 of T26N, R10E.
