- Description
- The Naval Surface Warfare Center - Panama City, 110 Vernon Avenue, Panama City, Florida intends to solicit Brantner & Associates Inc., 1240 Vernon Way, El Cajon, CA 92020 on a sole source basis for various electronic cable assemblies and components for the Swimmer-Delivery-Vehicle (SDV) program. NSWC is currently upgrading existing boats in the fleet and outfitting new SDV boats. This purchase is not suitable for full and open competition for the following reason. The SDV was originally outfitted with cables and cable assemblies produced by SeaCon Brantner. Requested material will be used with existing hardware and has already been through operational and technical evaluation for certification. Once a system is certified nothing can be altered without approval from project engineers. Using alternate equipment would prove costly to the government and to the mission. Any variance in the parts used on certified systems would jeopardize the certification of the systems and ultimately the mission.
