- The US Army Corps of Engineers, Philadelphia District intends to issue a Request for Quote (RFQ) for a small business firm to furnish all labor, material and services, including hoses (100 feet minimum) and fittings, trucks/barges, tugboats, line han dlers, required to remove the dispose of the material contained in the Aft Peak Tank, utilizing a portable pump. All work shall be done in accordance with the scope of work provide within the RFQ. The material in the Aft Peak tank is a mixture of lubrica ting oil, fuel oil, hydraulic fluid, brackish (river/sea) water, oily water, emulsified oil, slop oil and sludge. The Aft Peak tank has a 33,000 gallon capacity. The contents of the material in the Aft Peak Tank shall be disposed of by the contractor in compliance with all current Environmental Protection Agency rules and regulations, as well as all applicable State and City/Local rules and regulations. All work shall be performed when the Dredge McFarland is at Lamberts Point Docks in Norfolk, VA during the lay period between 1 July 06 through 9 July 06. A Request for Quote shall be issued on Friday, June 23, 2006 and will be advertised on FedTeds for a limited period of 3 calendar days. Quotes are due back no later than Wednesday, 28 June 2006 at 3:30 pm. The acquisition will be procured as a commercial item in accordance with FAR Parts 12 and 13. Contractors must register on the Internet and download the solicitation package and all amendments from the following address: https://www.fedteds.gov on o r after the issue date of the solicitation.
