- DESIGN/BUILD CORROSION CONTROL FACILITY, KIRTLAND AFB, BERNALILLO COUNTY, NEW MEXICO. The proposed procurement is unrestricted, open to both large and small business concerns. NAICS is 236220/SIC 1522, with a size standard of $31,000,000.00. The magn itude of construction is between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000.00. Bonding will be required for this acquisition. The offerors attention is directed to Section 00100 in the Solicitation for information regarding the tour of the site. Plans will be issued on o r about June 30, 2006, with proposals due on or about August 16, 2006. This solicitation will not be issued on paper. WORK CONSISTS of the design and construction of a modern Corrosion Control/Painting Facility at Kirtland AFB, New Mexico. The project sha ll incorporate all utility support and health and safety features including fire detection/suppression systems. The facility is to include an aircraft paint bay, support equipment preparation bay and paint booth, paint mixing room, composite repair room an d a plastic media blasting room. There is no specific demolition associated with this project nor is there relocation of utilities and communication lines; however, a detention pond, pavement driveways and miscellaneous landscaping will be required. This project will be advertised as a Request for Proposal. Competitive proposals will be evaluated based on the evaluation criteria set forth in the solicitation package. Evaluation by the Government will result in selection of a firm that represents the best o verall value to the Government. Proposed procurement will result in a firm fixed price contract.
