- Description
- Notice of Intent to award as a sole source requirement to PCS Welding Ltd for Twenty-Eight (28) high performance general aircraft maintenance (APG) consolidated tool kits (CTK). Each CTK is comprised of a standard tool set , a cabinet, and a removeable 4-wheel trolley. This proposed contract action is for a supply which the Government intends to negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.501(a). The following description is given in accordance with FAR 5.207(c). (1) Not Applicable - No National Stock Number (NSN) (2) Tools must meet SAE Standard measurements Tools must be of high quality/industrial strength Tools must have lifetime replacement warranty Tools/cabinet must be provided by local vendor for immediate warranty/repair service Tools/cabinet must have immediate turnaround replacement capability (next day) Tools must be etched for positive tool control Delivery of 16 units no later than 1 Aug 2006. Compact design ? For loading several CTKs into vehicles for transport to the worksite Heavy gauge lift handles with sidewall reinforcement ? For lifting/loading CTKs into high wheelbase vehicles Customer defined drawer dimensions ? Necessary for housing several odd shaped tools critical in the performance of F-15 E aircraft maintenance. Top external heavy rubber mat inlay ? For a mobile workbench; minimizes wear and tear Steel caster dolly with A-Frame support structure ? Critical for mobilization on the job site; allows tool box to be removed from casters when transported by vehicle Coverings ? Following the accomplishment of a six month market research, we have found that PCS Welding is the only vendor that can meet all of the identified criteria and specifications. While other vendors have similar capabilities, no other vendor except PCS was found that could fulfill all of criteria.
