- Description
- The Air Force Research Laboratory Information Directorate, Rome NY intends to solicit and negotiate a sole source purchase order under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 with Microwave Instrumentation Technologies, LLC, 1125 Satellite Blvd., Suite 100, Suwanee, GA 30024 for the purchase of two (2) MI-4185 Position Controller Upgrades. These upgrades must contain the following requirements: MI-4195BR-FP Position Controller with Ethernet, MI-4190MC Master Controller with Ethernet, MI-4190-12 MI-4180/4195 Junction Box, MI-4190-04 Local Control Unit with 50ft Cable, MI-4192-BCD High Speed BCD Option, MI-4190-CP-025 Controller to PAU Cable, 25ft Installation and Operator Familiarization. Options include Software & HSBCD Interface Assistance, per day and Spare MI-4195 Power Amplifier. Information received within 7 days after date of publication of the solicitation will be considered by the Government. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The NAICS code is 334220. SOLE SOURCE JUSTIFICATION: The manufacturer, Microwave Instrumentation Technologies, LLC has a 25 year history supporting this effort. Beginning with an entirely new system in order to meet competition requirements would result in the need for integration and development costs that are unnecessary and exorbitant amount incurred to the government. The MI-4195 Position Controller Upgrade is required to replace the present 4181 Position Controller. The MI-4195 Positioner Controller Upgrade is required to enhance measurement in support of the F/A 22 Raptor Program and the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter Program, both with directly support homeland defense.
