The National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Institutes of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS) intends to negotiate and award on a sole source basis with Science Daily, LLC, 14904 Talking Rock CT., North Potomac, MD 20878. The period of performance is for one year period. NIGMS requires a contractor to support Web site troubleshooting and enhancements. Specifically, the work to be performed includes, but is not limited to: Maintain and develop in ASP and other languages, including Javascript, XML, and XSLT, scripts on the NIGMS Web sites (such as the publications ordering system, the funding opportunities directory, and the Google site search). Develop new Web-based applications that interact with NIH databases. Improve existing Web material and functionality of the site to ensure that the best, most current technologies and practices are implemented, as appropriate, on the NIGMS Web site. Troubleshoot and resolve problems that may arise on the site. Interact with technical, scientific, communications, and managerial staff and contractors at NIGMS and NIH, particularly CIT, to facilitate the work on the site and to assist NIGMS staff in developing content for the site. These interactions may be in person, by telephone, or via e-mail. Participate in meetings at OCPL, NIGMS, and NIH and attend meetings such as the NIH Web Authors Group (WAG), NIH Web Interest Group (WIG), CMS Users Group, American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI) survey meetings, and meetings with CIT and report back to NIGMS staff as appropriate. Evaluate and recommend relevant Web design, development, and management software, hardware, and other products or services. This proposed action is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations. However all quotes received within ten (10) days after the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed simplified acquisition requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive acquisition.
