- The purpose of this contract is to secure services for pre-commercial thinning of approximately 591 acres of conifer reproduction, approximately 16 to 26 years old. The project area is located on the Tongass National Forest?s Hoonah Ranger District, Southeast Alaska. Hoonah is located on the east side of Chichagof Island approximately 40 air miles west of Juneau, Alaska, the closest transportation and supply center. Access to Hoonah is limited to air and water transportation. Alaska Airlines, in combination with Juneau based air taxi and charter services, provide air service from Seattle, WA, Juneau and Hoonah. The Alaska Marine Highway Ferry System (from Bellingham, Washington), barge services (from both Juneau and Seattle), and Juneau and Hoonah based landing craft charter services provide water transportation for passengers and/or freight. The performance period is 246 calendar days. The solicitation will be posted on FedBizOpps website on or about July 6, 2006 for viewing and printing. Potential offerors are requested to obtain the solicitation from the Internet if at all possible. Alternatively, a hard copy of the solicitation documents may be requested via fax at 907.228.6254. Fax requests should reference solicitation AG-0116-S-06-0047. Telephone requests will not be honored. Offers will be due approximately 30 calendar days after the solicitation issue date. PLAN HOLDERS LISTS: The Interested Vendors List (IVL) has replaced the plan Holders Lists that was previously available with solicitation packages. Follow this procedure for EACH project of interest. Use the Register as Interested Vendor option to add your company name to the IVL and then view or print the IVL by selecting View List of Interested Vendors for each project.
