- Description
- Air Force Research Laboratory, Air Vehicles Directorate, Control Sciences Division, Control Sciences Development Branch (AFRL/VACC ) solicits research proposals in the area of Autonomous Terminal Area Operations (ATAO0, involving all ground operations and operations in the airspace of a terminal area while in contact with either control tower, approach control, or departure control. The specific objective of this program is to address issues associated with these areas using autonomous and distributed control technology. Areas of focus include, but are not limited to, ground taxi, taxi in congested areas, taxiing into parking or arming areas, ground radio calls, ground obstacle avoidance, hold short and give way commands, all communication with Air Traffic Control (ATC), airfield databases, standard and nonstandard departures, published approaches, holding, and overhead patterns.
