- The Corporation for National and Community Service, a wholly owned Government Corporation intends to award a contract to a qualified vendor to provide the administration of its child care benefits for AmeriCorps*VISTA and AmeriCorps*National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC) programs. Each year some 6,000 members serve in AmeriCorps*VISTA and some 1,100 members serve in AmeriCorps*NCCC. Each month approximately 190 members of VISTA qualify for this benefit. Fewer than 5 members a year in NCCC qualify for this benefit. The payment for child care is paid directly to the provider. The payment is determined by an analysis of the rates prevailing in the state in which the service is provided and by the maximum benefit available; the maximum for AmeriCorps*VISTA is $300 per month and the maximum for AmeriCorps*NCCC is $400 per month. The individual states determine a prevailing rate by a survey in compliance with the Department of Health & Human Services Child Care & Development Fund Block Grant program. Demonstrable experience with the Child Care & Development Fund Block Grant program is required to administer this program and this experience is subject to validation. Only those organizations with demonstrated experience with the Child Care & Development Fund Block Grant program and experience with the administration of government programs need apply. It is estimated that the hard copy of the solicitation will be available on or before July 11, 2006. All requests for a copy of the solicitation must be in writing.
