Description
The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) intends to issue a solicitation for an In-line Currency Vision Inspection System (CVIS). These devices will be installed on the Cope-Pak presses in both Fort Worth, Texas and Washington, DC. These systems will verify the presence, positioning, accuracy, and integrity of all typographic features of the United States currency overprinted on the Cop-Pak presses. These include serial numbers, seals, as well as Federal Reserve designation letters and numerals. The inspection system must provide real-time inspection, determine product suitability, communicate inspection results via a Cope-Pak interface, externally / visually display results to alert the press operator of errors, and automatically collect all inspection results in a Comma Separated Value (CSV) data file. The requirement will include the following: 1(one) base unit with options for 11 (eleven) additional units. Each unit shall be provided as a turnkey system which shall meet the requirements identified in the Statement of Need (SON). Unit prices will include all labor, materials, travel, installation, delivery, set-up, acceptance testing, start-up assistance, training, warranty, and operating assistance. A draft of the SON is included as an attachment to this pre-solicitation notice. Feed-back can be E-mailed to donald.baron@bep.treas.gov or faxed to 202-874-2200, attention: Don Baron.
