- Work includes maintenance dredging up to a maximum of 600,000 cyds of shoal material from St. Lucie Inlet, Florida with placement on Hobe Sound National Refuge beach located approximately 4.5 miles south of the inlet. Base Bid consists of dredging of approximately 400,000 CY from the entrance channel Cut-1 to the required depth of 10 feet plus 2-foot allowable overdepth and to the required depth of 16 feet plus 2-foot allowable overdepth (in accordance with the drawings). Dredge impoundment basin to 1 6 feet required depth plus 2-foot allowable overdepth. Work also includes beach tilling and turbidity monitoring. Work shall commence 30 days after issuance of the Notice to Proceed (NTP). Option A consists of dredging of approximately 200,000 CY from the impoundment basin to 16 feet required depth plus 2-foot allowable overdepth. Work also includes beach tilling and turbidity monitoring. The Contractor should expect sea conditions with waves 3-feet or greater in height and ocean currents exceeding 3-knots a majority of the time in the project areas. Only Coast Guard Certified vessels will be allowed to work on this project. COAST GUARD CERTIFICATION OF VESSELS IS REQUIRED. Work shall be completed by 30 April 2007. Magnitude of construction is between $10,00 0,000.00 and $25,000,000.00. Bid Opening Date is on or about 01 August 2006. THIS IS AN UNRESTRICTED ACQUISITION. There will be a price preference for certified HUBZone small business concerns that comply with the requirements in the solicitation as stipul ated in FAR 19.1307.
