Description
The US Army is seeking available sources to produce and support the acquisition of Single Shelter Switch (SSS) assemblages for use as part of an Integrated Theater Signal Battalion (ITSB) capability needed to meet Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF)/Ope ration Iraqi Freedom (OIF) requirements. In addition to producing the switches, this effort will include the associated Network Operations (NetOps) hardware and software, systems engineering and integration support, New Equipment Training, on-call Contrac tor Field Service Representative support, and spare parts for the SSS and NetOps hardware. It is anticipated the SSSs will be acquired under the contract using Firm-Fixed Price line items for units that have been: (1) upgraded from an SSS (V)1; (2) produ ced by upgrading a Baseband Node (BBN); and (3) newly developed. The SSS is a single-shelter design for rapid deployment and small footprint that provides voice, data and video in three separate security domains. The SSS is compatible with legacy systems, Stryker brigades, and the Joint Network Node (JNN) and is part o f the migration path to Warfighter Information Network, Terrestrial (WIN-T). The SSS provides the Commander at Echelons above Corps (EAC) with Joint Mission Force capabilities for: Strategic Tactical Entry Point (STEP) access to Defense Switched Network, reach-back to Army Service Component Command, Signal support to Joint Task Force Headquarters and vertical and horizontal support to Tactical Units and Coalition Partners. The SSS assemblages are required as part of a joint complement of communications e quipment for ITSBs that will be supporting OEF/OIF. An ITSB is a modernized signal battalion that supports the EAC by providing high-speed voice, video and data communications while maintaining connectivity and interoperability with legacy systems. Respondents should provide a brief description (maximum of two pages) of capabilities and experience to substantiate their ability to provide the functionality described above. Responses should be submitted electronically in MS Word format to the PM point of contact for this action: John Peace, john.peace@us.army.mil, (732) 427-2049.
