Description

THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT, NOT A REQUEST FOR A PROPOSAL. A SOLICITATION DOCUMENT WILL NOT BE ISSUED AND PROPOSALS WILL NOT BE REQUESTED. The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) Office of Acquisitions intend to negotiate and award a purchase order on a noncompetitive sole source basis to Bruker Biospin Corporation, 15 Fortune Drive, Billerica, MA 01821, to provide preventive maintenance and repair service on the Bruker CryoPlatform Equipment. The maintenance service agreement period is twelve (12) months from the date of the award. The maintenance service shall include: (1) System I D, BH009797, DRX 5 Channel 600, CryoPlatform annual maintenance with parts support; (2) Probes Accessories; ACUSTAR II 3X10AMP DMX, DRX, DPX S/N BF8004/98-16-15: (3) BCU05 Cooling Unit S/N W1205535/0461: and (4) CP TXI 60053 H-CIN-D-05Z S/N Z44866/0084 (5) PH TXI 600SB H-CIN-D-05 XYZ S/N Z8323/0103. The sole source determination is based upon the fact that the equipment is manufactured by Bruker Biospin and only the manufacturer is authorized to provide maintenance service. Industry Classification (NAICS) Code is 811219 and the Standard Size is $6.0 million is applicable to this requirement. The small business set-aside does not apply. This acquisition is being conducted under simplified acquisition procedures, and exempt from the requirements of FAR Part 6. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this requirement. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct future competitive procurement. Responses to this announcement, referencing synopsis number NHLBI-PB(HL)-2006-209-DDC may be submitted to the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute, Consolidated Operations Acquisition Center, Procurement Branch, 6701 Rockledge Drive, Suite 6042, Bethesda, Maryland 20892-7902, Attention Deborah Coulter. All responsible sources may submit a quotation, which if timely received, shall be considered by the agency.
