Description
MODIFICATION 01- THIS FULLY REPLACES FEDBIZOPPS NOTICE POSTED ON JUNE 01, 2006. This requirement is being procured in accordance with FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisitions Procedures. The office of National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) National Marine Fisheries Service located in Seattle, WA is seeking for a contractor to provide research and development of education and outreach programs to fulfill the goals of the Proposed Conservation Plan for Southern Resident Killer Whales. Contractor will design and implement scientifically accurate and public friendly outreach effort designed to educate and inform interested parties in the everyday things they can do to participate and assist in the conservation of Puget Sound waters and in particular Southern Resident Killer Whales. Those responding to this solicitation should review the plan at www.nwr.noaa.gov and need to be familiar with and build upon existing outreach and education program. Period of performance will be for one year, approximately equivalent to GS-9 Fisheries Biologist if Federally employed. Contractor MUST: 1.) Have knowledge to develop and carry education programs 2.) Have experience with endangered species/marine mammal education programs 3.) Programs based on available scientific information and consistent with goals of poposed conservation plan for Southern Resident Killer Whales 4.) Novel approaches to reach broad public audiences. It is anticipated that award will be made to a source in Seattle or local commuting area due to the nature of work under proposed contract.
