Description
GOAT CREEK CULVERT REPLACEMENT ? R4-12-06-03 THIS PROJECT WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR VIEWING AND PRINTING IN APPROXIMATELY 15 DAYS. This contract shall consist of the following work: (1) Remove and dispose of the existing 8 foot diameter culvert at Goat Creek on the South Fork Salmon River road. Remove and dispose of the grout filled 6 inch well casing that will be encountered during excavation. (2) Install new 20 foot span, 10 foot rise, open bottom arch with concrete footing. Work will include, but not be limited to: Set and maintain survey control staking by referencing government supplied control points; Install traffic control devices; Submit an erosion control plan that will show the stream diversion plan; excavate the road embankment which is approximately 30 feet high, haul material to a temporary storage site approximately 3 miles away, construct cast- in ?place concrete footing, place stream simulation rock and rock crescent weirs to construct a natural stream channel; supply and install the arch; backfill arch and reconstruct roadway; place riprap; place aggregate surfacing and asphalt concrete to re-construct the road surface. The work shall be carried out in accordance with the lines, grades, notations, and dimensions shown in the plans. (3) Salvage rock for stream simulation material and riprap and weirs from the excavation. If additional rock is needed, the contractor may obtain rock from the Roading Springs riprip source that is located approximately 1 miles south of the project. (4) The Forest Service will obtain a closure order to close the South Fork Salmon River road to public traffic for a several mile area immediately around the Goat Creek project site. The contractor will install warning signs and traffic control devices. The road closure will include the haul routes to the temporary storage site, and to the riprap borrow source. Pilot vehicles will be required on the open sections of road for overwidth vehicles. Restrictions on fuel delivery vehicles also apply. ESTIMATED CONTRACT TIME: Project schedule is as follows: September 15, 2006 :Award contract October 2006 to July 2007: submittals of contractor designed materials, order materials. July 9, 2007: Contractor mobilization on site, begin site work without closing roadway. July 11, 2007: Close Road, begin excavation October 1, 2007: Reopen road. New structure completed, and road embankment resonctruced. Paving may be done after this, with temporary traffic controls and only one half hour delays. September 21: Disposal site on road 474E graded and ready for Forest Service revegetation work. PROJECT LOCATION: Drive west on the Warm Lake Highway from Cascade approximately 25 miles to the south end of the South Fork Salmon River Road. Drive north on the South Fork Salmon River road approximately 8 miles to the Goat Creek culvert. NAICS CODE: 237310. Size standard: $31.0 Million. Estimated price range - $300,000 to $600,000 This proposed procurement is under the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program, which is not a small business set aside.
