Description
The United States Government is performing market survey in an effort to determine the current state of the art regarding Medium Lift Helicopter Digital Automatic Flight Control Systems (AFCS), Doppler Navigation Systems and Global Positioning System (GPS) Navigation Systems. The purpose of this market survey is to define the cost and capabilities of existing production and field supportable avionics components that may be candidates for installation in a Medium Lift Helicopter modification program. The United States Government is not committed to procuring these items at this time and is seeking this information in order to determine the market conditions as they are during this request period. The United States Government provides technical and procurement assistance to various foreign nations in a spirit of cooperation concerning mutual security needs. These Foreign Military Sales (FMS) programs often include the development and delivery of aircraft system upgrades. This Sources Sought may or may not result in the issuance of a Request for Proposal or other contract action. The United States Government is interested in technical information related to System and Sub-system components that may be integrated into an avionics suite that will have the following characteristics: CA code GPS navigation capability, Minimum 100 waypoint navigation route capacity, Digital map in 256 level RGB display, NVG operation will be actuated by a switch or input from a lighting control system, Automatic transition to Doppler hover, Programmed SAR patterns, Software and data backup battery, Route loading via serial port from standard digital host (laptop/memory stick/flash drive), Display of GPS and Doppler navigation plots, Reversion of primary plot to secondary if sensor data is out of range or invalid, Wind computation from available plot and sensor data, Execution of pre-programmed navigation plot and route. The United States Government requests the following information be provided, complete or in part, from any vendors with candidate systems or sub-system components meeting the general characteristics of 3.0 above: Component or Sub-system component description, Cost per unit (do not include programming, integration or installation cost), Physical characteristics, Mil, FAA and FCC approvals, if applicable, Mean Time Between Failure, Mean Time To Repair, Mean Cost To Repair, Current platforms hosting the components, Existing customer base (points of contact not required). The information supplied may be provided in any convenient format such as spreadsheets, cut sheets, catalogs and web pages.
