Description
The project consists of maintenance dredging of the Rudee Inlet Entrance Channel and Sand Trap. All work shall be performed by hydraulic dredge and pipeline method. The Entrance Channel shall be dredged to depths varying between 10 feet and 12 feet M LLW (NOS) with 2 feet of allowable overdepth at each respective depth; and the Sand Trap to a depth of 18 feet MLLW (NOS) with 2 feet of allowable overdepth. The Contractor shall place the dredged material in the Government-furnished, unconfined, shoreline dredged material management area and construct finished elevations and grades in the placement area to the tolerances indicated and specified. This project involves maintenance dredging approximately 69,300 cubic yards of material including estimated accr etion to September 2006 and allowable overdepth. The construction duration is 45 calendar days from receipt of Notice to Proceed. The Contractor is hereby informed that dredging activities and mobilization of plant and equipment to the beach, with the exc eption of surveys, will not be allowed prior to 5 September 2006. In the event the Optional Bid Items for this contract are awarded, additional construction time will not be added to the contract. The magnitude of construction is estimated between $500,000 and $1,000,000. THIS IS A SMALL BUSINESS SET-ASIDE PROCUREMENT. NAICS CODE 237990 applies to this procurement.
