Description
RFP 618-223-06 REPAIR OR REPLACE EXISTING ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS Issued: 6/14/2006 Proposals Due 7/14/2006 Site Visit: 6/22/2006 Z (Maintenance, Repair, or Alteration of Real Property) The Contractor shall provide all labor, materials and equipment to repair or replace existing deficient electrical components at the VA Medical Center, Minneapolis, MN as follows: a) Replace thirty (30) Seltronic breakers, b) Retrofit three (3) DS-type breakers, c) provide temporary parking lot lighting; d) provide spare DS 632 breaker (refurbished breaker acceptable), e) all items tested in accordance with specifications, f) all removed components returned to the owner (Government). These tasks shall be accomplished per contract specification number 06-121 and drawings at VA Medical Center, Minneapolis, MN 55417. Special Notice: This medical facility does not stop services. The Contractor is required to coordinate his work to minimize shutdowns and to comply with VA schedule requirements. Shutdowns shall be limited to the shortest time possible, but in no event shall any shutdown exceed four hours in length. Liquidated damages may be assessed at $1000.00 per hour for each hour the equipment is not available beyond the scheduled down time. The contractor shall notify the VA Project Manager, in writing, of scheduled shutdowns. A site visit for prospective contractors will be held on Thursday, June 22, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. local time; meet in Facilities Engineering Service, Basement, Bldg 70, Room BR-138. Project and all testing to be completed not later than September 30, 2006. NIACS is 236210 at $13 million dollars. The magnitude of the project is estimated between $100,000 and $250,000. This is 100% set-aside for small business. Specification, Drawing, and Bid documents available at the site visit on June 22, 2006. Proposals are due Friday, July 14, 2006 at 4:30 p.m. CT. Proposals shall be delivered by the due date and time to VISN 23 Contracting and Purchasing Office, Bldg. 68, ATTN: Michael Owen, VA Medical Center, One Veterans Drive, Minneapolis, MN 55417. No other documents will be posted to this website for this project.
