Description
The U.S. Geological Survey, (USGS), Boise Water Science Center located in Boise, Idaho has a requirement to Design, Furnish, and Install automatic fire sprinkler systems to Building #4, #5, and #7. A site visit will be conducted on July 18, 2006, 10:00 am in Boise, ID. Information for the site visit will be provided in the solicitation. The period of performance for this work is 180 days. An anticipated start date is August 28, 2006. Specific work requirements will be set forth in the statement of work and drawings included as attachments. Drawings may be obtained upon receipt of a written request to the Contracting Officer. Requests may be submitted via regular mail at the address cited above, by fax 703-648-7901, or via email to jlowe@usgs.gov. Requests must clearly state the company name, mailing address, point of contact, telephone/fax/e-mail information, and a copy of the company's Business License. The solicitation will be issued electronically as will any amendments thereto. Because of this the Government is under no obligation to maintain a bidders mailing list, it is therefore incumbent upon any interested parties to periodically access the internet address in order to obtain any amendments that may be issued. Failure to obtain any amendments or respond to them prior to the date and time set for receipt of proposals may render your proposal non-responsive and result in its rejection. Due to the specific requirements associated with this fire sprinkler project the prime contractor must be a fire sprinkler company certified to conduct business in the state of Idaho, and shall have National Institute of Certified Engineering Technologies (NICET) Certified Engineering Technicians to design and install the fire protection system and is fully knowledgeable of all National Fire Protection Act (NEPA) requirements. Fire sprinkler installations must be done by a licensed fire sprinkler contractor. Design must be done by a Fire Protection Engineer. Component design may be done under the supervision of the FPE by a NICET technician according to the NICET website. An anticipated release date of the solicitation will be on June 26, 2006. Details of this RFP will be available on the Department of the Interior Business Opportunities website at http://ideasec.nbc.gov. The posted RFP will contain the uniform contract format (Sections B - M). The estimated cost for this acquisition is between $100,000.00 - $250,000.00. The NAICS code is 236220. This acquisition is UNRESTRICTED.
