- The National Institutes of Health (NIH) National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) has a requirement to Maintenance Service on a Sequoia Ultrasound System s/n 63091 from Siemens Medical Systems, 38705 Seven Mile Road, Livonia, MI 48152. The services included are: Labor and Parts, Principal Coverage Period, System Updates, Access to Siemens UPTIME service support center for technical telephone support (remote diagnostics if available to the site and the equipment). This service will be Base Year plus four (4) option years. The Institute intends to obtain this service by other than full and open competition from Siemens Medical Systems. To the best of the Governments knowledge the proposed contractor is the only known source that can provide the maintenance on the Sequoia System without voiding the warranty. Interested vendors may identify in writing their interest with a capability statement to the Contracting Office prior to the closing date of this notice. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals, however; all responses received, before the closing date, of this announcement will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed acquisition is based upon responses to this notice and is solely within the discretion of the Government. It is anticipated that the Request for Quotation (RFQ) NIH-NIDDK-06-843 will be available fifteen (15) days after the publication date of this synopsis. Receipt of quotations will be due ten (10) days after the release of the RFQ. The anticipated award date is July 14, 2006. Request for copies of the RFQ must be in writing to the National Institutes of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases, 6707 Democracy Blvd., Room 775, Bethesda, MD 20817 Attention: Patricia Haun.
