Description

The United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) located at MacDill Air Force Base, Florida plans to award a sole source contract to Raytheon Network Centric Systems, Fort Wayne, IN, to upgrade the software of its AN/PSC-5D Multi-Band Multi-Mission Radio (MBMMR). This software upgrade will modify the following capabilities: Automatic Voice/Data Switching, SINCGARS Enhanced Operating Modes, and Operator Selectable MIL-STD-188-183 or MIL-STD-188-183A 25kHz DAMA modes. This software upgrade must interoperate and not degrade any of the current capabilities that can meet these requirements, as the software that currently operates the radio is proprietary. This synopsis does not constitute a Request for Proposals, and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government to issue an order. See note 22.
