- The US Army ARDEC-Picatinny is conducting a Market Survey to identify potential sources for supplying the U.S. Army with the establishment of the Center for Integrated Security Logistics. The requirement for this award is to establish a Center for Integrated Security Logistics and begin the process of developing four components that will dramatically improve the Office of Homeland Defense ability to respond to emergency events via a more secure logistics supply chain as well as have application to similar problems encountered by the Army's ammunition distribution mission. The four systems are: a) HSMS, a low-cost, high reliability health and status monitoring system (HSMS) as a safeguard against specific environmental degradations; b) IAS, an Intelligent Asset system (IAS) for real-time inventory of assets; c) AAC, a real-time AIT concept to enable total Asset Accountability/Consumption (AAC) down to the emergency response system. Enables on location visibility of shipped assets; and d) AAL, an Anticipatory (Sense and Respond) Asset Logistics Portal (AALP) for responsive end-to-end supply chain. All of these proposed systems will be demonstrated at Homeland Defense exercises planned for the next FY. This approach will also be tailored to support similar visibility and accountability problems with the Army's ammunition supply chain and demonstrated at various ammunition supply point nodes. Delivery is planned for the first quarter of the fiscal year 2007. The Government intends to award on sole source basis, a contract to University of Maryland, Center for Public Policy and Private Enterprise, School of Public Affairs. Respondents should have sufficient capability to furnish these requirements to the U.S. Army. Interested firms, who feel they are capable, are invited to indicate their interest by providing to the U.S. Army a brief summary of their company???s capabilities including brief description of facilities, personnel, and past experience. A follow-up detailed questionnaire may be provided to survey respondents and on-site visits may be performed as a result of further analysis. Also, interested firms should provide the name, address, point-of- contact with telephone number and e-mail address, size of business (small/large) and where the facility is located.
