Description

SUBJECT: NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE PROCUREMENT DESC. The 55th Contracting Squadron, 101 Washington Sq Bldg 40, at Offutt AFB NE, 68113 in support of the Defense Technical Information Center (DTIC) program office ,under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, intends to award a sole source to ITT-AES Industries Inc. The award is a 6 month extension of services for the DATA AND ANALYSIS CENTER for SOFTWARE (DACS) requirements. Period of performance is 14 November 2006 through 13 May 2007. NAICS code is 541710. During this extension period, the contractor will provide the following essential services: Responses to software data analysis related technical inquiries from DoD components and other U.S. Government agencies. As a national resource of software data analysis technology, the DACS is required to provide fast reaction time to service inquiries for analysis, especially where evaluation of conventional and non-traditional software technology techniques are involved. Bibliographic searches to provide available information to DoD activities needing timely guidance on and comprehensive technical background to support military Research and Development (R&D) projects in the areas of Software Technology. These technologies are critical in maintaining the DoD infrastructure. Maintain all DACS databases for all of DoD and other U.S. Government users. Issue DACS products, publications and state-of-the art reports to DoD, providing detailed technical information on production process development and improvement related subjects. Continue performing Technical Area Tasks (TATs) requested by DoD components and other U.S. Government agencies in accordance with the terms of the current contract as amended. This synopsis is not considered a Request for Quotation or Proposal. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be honored. No contract will be awarded on the basis of offers received in response to this notice. Any response to this notice e must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government. If no affirmative written response is received, the service will be awarded without further notice. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
