- This requirement is being procured in accordance with FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisitions Procedures. The office of NOAA, National Marine Fisheries Service, Northwest Fisheries Science Center located in Seattle, WA has a requirement for a contractor to provide assistance in carrying outreach to identify and characterize the Renibacterium Salmoninarum sortase, to assist in developing controlling infections in salmon. The intended acquisition is for services for which the Government intends to acquire from one source under the authority of 41 USC 235 (c) (1), Only One Responsible Source. The government identified University of Idaho as the only source who can complete work under proposed contract. University of Idaho has developed expertise on genomic and proteomic approaches to the study of fish pathogens that can be used to develop more efficacious treatments or vaccines specifically against Renibacterium Salmoninarum, the causative agent of Bacterial Kidney Disease in salmon. The government reserves the right to solicit bids based on the receipt of affirmative responses to this notice or issue an order to University of Idaho without further notice. A firm fixed price purchase order will be issued with start date of September 25, 2006 and end date of September 324, 2007. This may represent the only official notice. All interested parties must respond to this announcement within fifteen (15) calendar days of its publication. This is a simplified acquisition with an estimated value of less than $100,000.00. ****The Western Regional Acquisition Division, requires that all contractors doing business with this Acquisition Office be registered with the Central Contractor Registry (CCR) and complete online Representations and Certifications at http://orca.bpn.gov.
