Description
THIS IS A MARKET SURVEY, NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL The National Institutes of Health (NIH), Office of Research Facilities (ORF), Office of Acquisitions is seeking Sources Sought from 8(a), HUB Zone, Service-Disabled Veterans, Small Disadvantaged and Women-Owned Small Businesses to perform Janitorial Services for the National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), Rocky Mountain Laboratories (RML), Hamilton, Montana area. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, management, supervision, materials, supplies, equipment and transportation necessary to maintain approximately 40,000 square footage of cleaning area in Bldg. 28, and 21,000 square footage of cleaning area in Bldg. 31. The contractor shall plan and schedule work to assure material, labor, and equipment are available to complete work requirements with regard to the established time limits and quality standards. The contractor shall arrange work so as not to cause interference with the normal occurrence of Government business. In those cases where some interference is unavoidable, the Contractor shall make every effort to minimize the impact of the interference and its effects. The contractor shall provide routine cleaning tasks that are performed on a frequent basis but require no special scheduling or planning. Routine cleaning shall include tasks such as trash collection, dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, damp wiping and/or mopping of horizontal and vertical surfaces to include but not limited to furniture, desks, counter tops, walls, window sills, cubical walls, pictures, bookshelves, kitchen surfaces, refrigerators, microwaves, walk-off mats, stairs, stairwells and floors. Routine cleaning tasks shall also include cleaning and sanitizing restrooms and food related surfaces, walls and fixtures, cleaning chalk and water marker (white) boards, and cleaning of mirrors, windows (interior and exterior), and door glass. The contractor will not be required to clean any laboratory work benches, sinks, and laboratory equipment. The contractor will not disturb any items that may reside on an office desk, bookcase, table, or countertop without the permission of the occupant. Potential sources must demonstrate and document the following in their capability statements: Offerors may be required to demonstrate relevant experience, appropriate certifications, necessary personnel, and adequate facilities. Currently, NIH intends to issue a solicitation for one base year and four one-year option requirement. Interested Small Business organizations should respond with a capability statement no later than 16 June 2006 and must not be any longer than 10 pages in length. Capability statements must reference similar work that has been performed by the contractor, the dollar value of that work, and contract information for references knowledgeable about the quality of work completed. All organizations who respond to this announcement will receive notification of how NIH intends to proceed with this requirement.
