- Description
- The goal of this project is to mitigate the risk of wildfire spread to Wildland/Urban Interface areas from lands administered by the Walla Walla Ranger district. More specifically, the purpose is to decrease the spread rate and intensity of a wildfire and associated smoke production in and adjacent to an urban interface setting. The contract has been developed to accomplish this task through creation of a ? mile wide fuelbreak along the Forest boundary. This project will use manual methods to reduce ladder fuels on Forest Service lands adjacent to private property, an area encompassing 281 acres in 6 units, extending over 3 miles along the Forest boundary. The treatment is anticipated to begin in the spring, 2006 and is projected to be complete by October, 2006. The contractor shall provide labor, equipment, supervision, transportation, operating supplies, and incidentals to perform all work specified herein. The solicitation will be posted to FedBizOpps on or about June 20, 2006 and offers are due July 3, 2006.
