Description
The Contractor shall furnish and install vertical blinds on first, second and third floors of the B & C-Wing in Building 10577,Vandenberg AFB, CA. Install mini-blinds as specified below at locations shown on diagrams (provided by the Government). Blinds are to be Brand Name or Equal to: Manufacture: Bali. Style: Spring-Bali Window Fashions S3000; 1?, 6guage, aluminum horizontal blinds. Color: 541, Flax. Typical Building Bay: Four mini-blinds shall be installed in each building bay, consisting of two pairs of blinds. Each typical pair of blinds will consist of one 4?-7? and one 5?-3? blind. The break between these blinds shall fall upon one of the window mullions. The referenced quantities and sizes are typical and approximate. All areas shall be measured for bidding and fabrication purposes. There are several locations where the typical information will not provide adequate information for bidding or manufacturing of the blinds as other sizes or quantities will be required due to partitions intersecting or encroaching on the area of window being covered. The contractor shall provide any backing or support needed for the attachment of the blinds to ceilings or walls. Restrictions: Blinds shall not be attached to the aluminum window frames. Escorting Requirements: The majority areas where the blinds are to be installed are within secure areas. This will require that the contractor labor to be escorted during measuring and installation. The cost of escort services shall be included into bid proposal. If more than one person is used for installation a minimum of two escorts will be required at all times. More escorts may be needed based on the manpower and schedule for the project. The three following types of escorts required are dependant on the space (per diagram): Secured Areas Escorting Requirements A: The base will supply escorts in the required secured areas (per diagram). Scheduling Note: Arranging for escorts and access to the these areas tend to be more difficult and requires advanced scheduling with the space occupants. Scheduling of access to these areas shall be done first and other installations shall be scheduled around these installations. Secured Areas Escorting Requirements B: The contractor will provide escorts without arrangements of military escorts. Non-Secured Areas Escorting Requirements C: Escorts are not required. (Escorting requirements are annotated on diagrams) Demolition: The contractor shall remove all existing blinds, sheers and associated hardware in the rooms where new blinds are being installed. The contractor shall fill and patch all holes from existing or prior fixtures prior to installation of new blinds. Contractor shall verify where old and temporary blinds are installed. There will be a site visit at Building 10577 on Wednesday Jun 7, 2006 at 9:00 am local time. Contractors shall meet the contracting representative at Building 7015 at 08:45 prior to departure. If you are interested in attending please provide names of the individual or individuals who will be attending no later than 1:00 pm local time on Monday Jun 6, 2006 (through email). Contractors are highly encouraged to attend the site visit. The Government highly encourages contractors to perform field measurements, drawings are for informational purposes only and will be provided upon request or at the site visit. Due to security, all Contractors are encouraged to arrive early to the main gate for in processing. In order to obtain a vehicle pass for base access all visitors must possess a valid photo ID. Driver of the vehicle must have a valid driver license, vehicle registration, and proof of insurance. Photography is not permitted during the visit, however a Government representative may be asked to photograph a specific area and Contracting Representative will provide the requested pictures to interested parties via e-mail. Contractors have until 12pm PST on Friday 9 Jun 2006 to ask any questions in regards to this project. Government will provide a written response posted NLT 4:30pm PST on Monday 12 Jun 2006. This synopsis and solicitation is prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation is issued as a request for quote (RFQ) F4D396145A300. Submit written offers, oral offers will not be accepted. All firms or individuals responding must be registered with the Central Contractor Registration (CCR). This procurement is being issued as 100% SMALL BUSINESS SET-ASIDE. This solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-09 and DFARS Change Notice 20060519. North American Industrial Classification Standard 423220 , Size Standard, 100 Employees, applies to this procurement.
