Description
This solicitation was previously synopsized as Solicitation Number W9127N-06-B-0008. The Portland District Corps of Engineers intends to award a contract for South Coast Clamshell Dredging. This is a best value procurement. Evaluation factors will be included in the solicitation. This dredging project includes maintenance of small ports a long the southern coast of Oregon. These port locations include Port Orford, Winchester Bay, and Charleston. Disposal for each of these locations will be at designated ocean disposal sites. The Contractor shall be required to commence work at any time afte r Notice to Proceed, to prosecute the work diligently, and complete the work not later than July 31, 2006. Contractor must meet U.S. Coast Guard Load Line Requirements for vessels that transit beyond the Boundary Line, verifying documentation must be provi ded with proposals. A Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) shall be provided for all new contracts with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Portland District. For this project, the person that will act as the SSHO is required to have a minimum of 3 years safety work with similar projects and a 30 Hour OSHA construction safety class, or equivalent, taken within the last 3 years. The SSHO may have other duties for thi s work that include being the Contractor on-site Project Manager and/or the on-site CQC Manager or other responsible individual.
