Description
Under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, the U.S. Army, REDCOM, Natick Contracting Division, Kansas Street, Natick, MA on behalf of the United States Army Soldier System Center, Natick, MA intends to negotiate and award a purchase order to Thermotron I ndustries, 291 Kollen Park Drive, Holland Michigan 49423. This is for the purchase of an Temperature and Humidity Chamber with options. Only the Thermotron model SM-8-3800 Temperature/Humidity Chamber provides heat exhaust through the top of the unit a nd fits within the space constraints of the lab, particularly the 50 inch depth requirement. The chamber must fit flush to walls on its right and back sides. Units from other manufacturers, which have rear exhaust, require an extra 1.5-3 feet of clearanc e behind the unit for exhaust air passage. With this type of arrangement the unit would sit too far out from the wall and would prevent access to other parts of the lab. This would also create a critical safety issue in the event of an emergency by block ing passage through the lab. The Thermotron unit can sit flush against the walls and still allow access and full mobility to other parts of the lab. Questions concerning this acquisition may be addressed to the above address, Attention: Mr. Greg Wilson (AMSRD-ACC-NS) or by gregory.wilson@natick.army.mil. This synopsis expires May 25, 2006 at 12:00 pm local time.
