Description
NOTICE OF INTENT: 70 - ADP INPUT AND STORAGE DEVICES Contact: Ronald J. Kennedy, Code 0271RK, Telephone (843) 218-5820; Fax (843) 218-5963; Contracting Officer, Paula S. Somers, Telephone (843) 218-5976; Fax (843) 218-5963 Description: Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center (SPAWARSYSCEN) Charleston intends to negotiate, on a sole-source basis, with Metadata(r) Company LLC, (DBA) The Metadata(r) Company, 444 W Ocean Blvd., Suite 1600, Long Beach CA 90802-4524. The contractor shall provide services to investigate the use of Virtual Data Retrieval Tool (VDRT), which is a component of Contractor's Proprietary Software, in a systems environment that will support Critical Infrastructure Protection Center (CIPC's) functionality requirements and operating environment. This investigation is intended to result in a demonstration prototype that acquires data from remote data sources in a format compatible with CIPC's analytical tools. Virtual data retrieval in this context means the importation of specific data from different remote sources in response to a query, with data import occurring at the time of the query, merging the data in a unified database using The Metadata(r) Company's unique data language and, creating merged output of data that are compatible with CIPC's analytical tools. The demonstration prototype model will be developed based on requirements that were previously established. The model will be integrated into the Critical Infrastructure Protection Center's Collaborative Information Warfare Network (CIWN). This award expands upon the 2004 and 2005 metadata model development and proof of concept of a unified database management platform that can be integrated into the following CIWN nodes: 1. Visual Links/Analyzer 2. Neural Solutions 3. Web-Enabled Service Oriented Architecture 4. General GUI Interfaces The Metadata(r) Company intellectual property and system provide CIPC with capabilities and efficiencies based on The Metadata(r) Company's unique data modeling language. The Metadata(r) Company's system is based on the data modeling language and provides data management capabilities not found elsewhere in the marketplace. The Metadata(r) Company's technology provides CIPC with the capability to incrementally build a data model and database system without the need to continually redesign the database as additional data and interoperability requirements are identified. The Metadata(r) Company has patents pending on its intellectual property, including several components of its systems. A Firm Fixed Price type contract is anticipated. This Notice of Intent is NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. The applicable NAICS Code is 541511 and FSC Code 7025 applies. Comments shall be submitted in writing to Ron Kennedy, Code 0271RK, Contract Specialist, telephone number (843) 218-5820; e-mail address ronald.kennedy@navy.mil. NOTE 22 APPLIES.......
