Description
Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division (NSWC Crane) issued contract N00164-05-D-8250 to L-3 Communications Avionics Systems, 5353 52nd ST SE, Grand Rapids, MI, on 01 June 2005 as a sole source procurement in accordance with FAR 6.302-1. This 5-year Firm Fixed Price (FFP) Requirements type contract covers repairs and the procurement of spares of the following L-3 part numbers (P/N): 501-1478-04 (Servo Actuator), 501-1757-01 (3? Attitude Indicator), and 501-1771-03 (Capstan Assembly). The Government intends to award a FFP modification to increase the estimated quantities of each line item. The estimated quantity for P/N 501-1478-04 repairs will be increased from 30 each to 44 each. The estimated quantity for P/N 501-1757-01 repairs will be increased from 22 each to 65 each. The estimated quantity for P/N 501-1771-03 repairs will be increased from 4 each to 14 each. The estimated quantity for the procurement of P/N 501-1478-04 will be increased from 5 each to! 9 each. The estimated quantity for the procurement of P/N 501-1757-01 will be increased from 7 each to 16 each. The estimated quantity for the procurement of P/N 501-1771-03 will be increased from 1 each to 5 each. The quantities listed above represent estimates for the remaining duration of the contract. The Government?s utilization of these revised quantities will result in an increase to the contract ceiling. Delivery remains FOB Origin with a 30 day turn around time on repairs and a 112 day turn around time on the procurement of spares. Acceptance will occur at Destination, NSWC Crane. The procurement of spares and repairs under this contract is in support of the United States Marine Corp and United States Coast Guard C-130J aircraft models. The Government does not possess Level III drawings or the test procedures for these units. These units must integrate precisely into the existing C-130J and C-130J derivative aircraft configuration in terms of form, fit, function, and compatibility. The proposed contract action is for supplies for which the Government does not intend to solicit or negotiate and is under the authority 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1.
