Description

THIS ANNOUNCEMENT WAS PREVIOUSLY PUBLISHED UNDER W912JA-06-B-0002 AND WAS CANCELLED. FUNDS HAVE BEEN PROVIDED AND THE SOLICITATION IS BEING RE-PUBLISHED AS FOLLOWS: The Alabama Air National Guard located at Birmingham International Airport in Birmi ngham, Alabama and the USPFO for Alabama intends to issue an Invitation for Bids (IFB) to award a single, firm fixed-price contract for services, non-personal to provide for all labor, transportation, materials, tools, equipment, appliances and supervision necessary to perform and complete the construction/repair of the Fuel Cell Building 135. The price will be offered in three parts consisting of the base bid and two additive bid items. The base bid will consist of the following general work: (1) Enclose the existing shed area on the west side of the hangar and install a new and complete paint spray booth to include overhead doors, masonry walls, gas fired heaters, water heater and eye wash. (2) Remove existing walkways/asphalt driveway and install concr ete driveway and curbs. (3) Replace HVAC system. (4) New de-stratification fans. (5) Replace all windows with blast resistant type. (6) Paint interior and exterior of building including floors. (7) Replacement of some floor covering. (8) Convert ceil ing grid system to 2x2 and install new acoustical tiles. (9) Remove air compressor and monorail crane hoist. (10) New floodlights; replace existing sodium luminaries and fluorescent tubes. (11) Modifications to existing fire alarm, telephone and Direc t Digital Control systems. Additive bid item #1: Interior paint  prepare surface and paint areas from bottom of roof trusses up to and including bottom of metal deck. Additive bid item #2: Removal of existing site landscaping and replace with stone. Also provide no parking striping. Estimated cost of renovation is between $500,000.00 and $1,000,000.00.
