- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) has a requirement to purchase an ES Tissue Processor with the following specifications: Free standing floor model, not to exceed 27? wide x 21? deep; organized basket to process at least 200 cassettes, glass lid to allow for viewing during processing; customized programs and flush options, user friendly software; built-in downdraft ventilation to minimize the operator?s exposure to hazardous vapors, fumes vented and absorbed through a Potassium Permanganate filter before getting into open air; 2-3 wax baths; three distinct fill levels in the chamber to shorten processing times; system to rotate reagents to reduce reagent usage; vacuum cycling; ability to monitor quality of the first alcohol by measuring its specific gravity and alert operator when it is no longer usable, users choice of monitoring reagent rotation by days, runs, cassette count or specific gravity of alcohol; complete temperature control with ambient option; built to flammable cabinet specifications; lockable doors for added safety. A single award will be made from this solicitation. Request for Quotation (RFQ) No. 2006-Q-08551 will be issued on or after May 30, 2006, and proposals will be due by June 7, 2006.
